Time Zone Converter online

Convert a date/time from one time zone to another. The tool uses your browser's built-in Intl.DateTimeFormat and Date APIs, so daylight-saving transitions are handled automatically for every IANA time zone (e.g., America/New_York, Europe/London, Asia/Shanghai). No external API calls — works completely offline after first load.

How it works

The tool parses your input date/time in the source zone, constructs a Date at that instant, then formats it for the target zone using Intl.DateTimeFormat with timeZone option. This delegates all DST rules to the browser's built-in IANA time-zone database, which is updated with OS/browser releases. The tool also shows the UTC offset for both zones at that instant, and warns if the conversion crosses midnight (date change).

Worked example

Meeting at 2026-10-08 10:00 in Asia/Shanghai (CST, UTC+8) → convert to America/New_York (EDT, UTC-4). Result: 2026-10-07 22:00 (previous day, 12-hour difference). Both zones are in their standard DST states for that date (Shanghai no DST, New York on EDT).

Practical tips

  • Use Local time zone quick-pick to auto-detect your browser's zone.
  • For recurring meetings, always specify the date — DST transitions mean the offset can change between summer and winter.
  • Share a pre-filled link: ?from=Asia/Shanghai&to=America/New_York&datetime=2026-10-08T10:00 (handy for calendar invites).
  • If the result date differs from the input date, the tool shows a date changed badge.

Privacy and browser processing

Whenever practical, DailyWebKit processes input locally in your browser. Tools that need network data can depend on external services, browser permissions and CORS. Do not enter confidential information into a third-party network service.

Frequently asked questions

Does this handle daylight saving time automatically?

Yes. The browser's IANA time-zone database includes all historical and current DST rules. When you pick a zone like America/New_York, the offset at your specific date/time is looked up automatically.

What time zones are supported?

All IANA zones available in your browser (typically 400+). The dropdown includes the 40+ most common zones plus Local time zone. You can also type a zone ID (e.g., Europe/Berlin) manually.

Why did my meeting shift by an hour?

One zone entered or exited DST on that date. The tool shows the UTC offset for both zones so you can verify (e.g., UTC-4 vs UTC-5).

Can I convert multiple time zones at once?

This tool does one-to-one conversion. For multi-zone comparison, run it multiple times or use a dedicated world-clock tool.

Is this tool free?

Yes. It is free and does not require an account.

Does DailyWebKit upload my input?

No. It runs locally in your browser and your input is never uploaded.
